特定非営利活動法人有明海ぐるりんネット

2000年のノリの色落ち被害で有明海環境問題が社会問題化する中、大学、行政、マスコミ、市民の有志が集い、設立趣意書に『有明海に関する知識と知恵を共有化し，有明海と共生する暮らし方を探り，行動する組織として，NPO法人「有明海ぐるりんネット」を結成したいと考えています』と述べて、2005年にNPO法人を立ち上げました。「有明海に関する知識と知恵を共有化し，有明海と共生する暮らし方を探る」活動は、月1回の例会活動、年1回の冊子「有明海」の発刊を通して一定の成果を挙げることはできましたが、「行動する組織」としての実績は、「ラムサール登録へ向けた取り組み」以外、必ずしも十分ではなかったと考えています。
活動の目途と定めていた10年を迎え、「法人活動を継続するかどうか」を会員間で何度も討議しました。その結果「有明海問題が社会的に混迷を深めている今だからこそ、市民が有明海と有明海沿岸域の実情を学び、情報を発信し、活動を継続することは意味のあることであり、楽しいことだ」との意見で一致し、活動を継続することにしました。
活動を継続するに当たっては、法人名に「ぐるりんネット」の名前を付けた設立の理念に立ち返り、有明海沿岸域及び水共同体としての福岡都市圏との連携を深める活動を強化していきたいと考えています。幸い、東与賀干潟、肥前鹿島干潟のラムサール登録を地元の方々と共同で勝ち取った成功体験があります。有明海全体が登録可能な干潟なので、それらの地域との連携を一層強め、有明海全体を一つのラムサール登録地に拡充したいと考えています。
また、有明海の環境を改善するには二枚貝を増やすことが最も有効であることは科学的に証明されています。有明海産の二枚貝を増やすために、生産と消費の両面からユニークで有効な活動を展開していきたいと考えています

NPO Ariake Sea Gururin Net

Environmental problems in the Ariake Sea were recognized as a serious social problem due to the profound discoloration of seaweed in 2000. As a result, the Saga University, Government Administration, Mass media and Volunteer Citizens gathered in 2005 and established an Association named NPO Ariakekai Gururin Net to overcome this social problem faced by the people in Saga prefecture. The organization decided to make documents that aimed at sharing knowledge about the Ariake Sea, exploring a way of living in harmony with the Ariake Sea and acting to overcome the problem. Activities such as monthly meeting and publishing books on “Ariakekai” have achieved a certain results, but the achievement as an active organization does not seem sufficient except working on the Ramsar Convention of Higashiyoka.
After 10-years of targeted activities, the members of the organization repeatedly discuss "whether it is useful to continue the NPO activities". As a result, we agreed to continue our NPO activities because opinions emerging from the members of the organization is meaningful for citizens to learn on the Ariake Sea and the Ariake Sea coastal areas. On the other hand, we also realized it is very important to continue our NPO activities because the Ariake Sea problem is becoming socially confusing day by day.
In order to continue our NPO activities, we though it is important to strengthen activities to deepen cooperation with the Ariake Sea coast area and the Fukuoka urban area as a water community,
considering on our founding philosophy with a name of “Gururin Net (Network around the Ariake Sea)" as a name of juridical person. Fortunately, local people in Higashiyoka and Kashima had a
successful experience of winning the Ramsar registration. As it is possible that the entire the Ariake Sea area is registered as Ramsar Convention, we are thinking to extend the Ramsar Convention
area by strengthening of cooperation with the people of other areas.
In addition, it is scientifically proven that proliferation of clams is the most effective way for improving the environment of the Ariake Sea. In this respect, we want to develop unique and
effective activities in terms of both production and consumption to increase Ariake marine bivalves.
